Indonesia finished second in the final medal standings at the 2025 SEA Games, which were held in Thailand from 9 to 20 December 2025, after its athletes delivered strong performances across various sports throughout the regional multi-sport event.
The Indonesian contingent officially closed its participation in the SEA Games as runner-up, marking one of the country’s most notable achievements in recent years, particularly as a non-host nation. The result reflected Indonesia’s consistency and competitiveness against other Southeast Asian countries.
Throughout the competition, Indonesian athletes contributed medals from multiple disciplines, helping the country secure a high position in the overall standings. The performance was considered to have exceeded initial expectations and demonstrated positive progress in Indonesia’s sports development.
Although Indonesia was unable to surpass host nation Thailand, which claimed the overall championship, the second-place finish was widely regarded as a significant accomplishment and a morale boost for national sports ahead of future international competitions.
