Supporting MSMEs: Free NIB from KKN UMT

Rajeg Mulya, July 27, 2025 — Community Service Program (KKN) students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang (UMT), currently assigned in Rajeg Mulya Village, have initiated a free business registration program for local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This activity is part of their main work program in the entrepreneurship sector and is open to all residents across the 12 neighborhood units (RW) in Rajeg Mulya.

The aim of the program is to assist local entrepreneurs in obtaining their Business Identification Number (NIB)—a legal requirement that formalizes business operations and opens access to various forms of government support. Through NIB registration, MSME owners are expected to benefit from funding opportunities, entrepreneurship training, official partnerships, and future mandatory halal certification set to be implemented in 2027.

The registration process is fully supported by KKN students, who guide residents through each stage: collecting necessary documents, filling out data, and submitting the application via the Online Single Submission (OSS) system. To participate, residents are required to submit a copy of their National ID (KTP) and Tax ID Number (NPWP).

In collaboration with local neighborhood leaders and village officials, the KKN team organized a rotating service schedule to reach all 12 RW efficiently. This mobile approach was chosen to make the service accessible, prevent overcrowding, and ensure that every community unit receives equal attention. In addition to technical assistance, the students also conducted simple educational outreach to explain the benefits of business legalization.

The program has received strong interest from residents, especially those operating home-based businesses who were previously unaware of the importance of legalizing their enterprises. The student team also distributed flyers and visited households to ensure inclusive participation across the village.

This initiative not only facilitates access to formal registration but also aims to raise awareness of business legality and empowerment among local entrepreneurs. By helping MSMEs take this first step toward formalization, the KKN students hope to contribute to the long-term growth and competitiveness of community-based businesses in Rajeg Mulya.
